You asked for it!!

Here is the update you have been waiting for. The process has been on hold for a little while, my sisters estrogen levels were VERY high and then her hemoglobin was low. They had to get this under control before we could move forward. We have an appt at 10 this morning and I start my injections tomorrow if all goes as planned. Sooo I will update again soon :)

Another appointment

Last Thursday we went and signed all the surgical concents. Feels alot more real now. My sister started her Lupron injections Friday, I gave her the first shot and from then on she has been giving them to herself. I hope I can do that, if not, the hubby will be a master at giving shots. LOL. I had an ultrasound again on Thursday to check and make sure my uterine lining was doing what they wanted it to with the birthcontrol pills.

Wow is all I can say

Went to meet with the psychologist today and had to take a mental wellness exam. WOW!! Those questions were crazy!! "Do you think your soul has left your body, do you think people are out to get you, do you think you are being brainwashed" it was crazy. 370 questions like that. Needless to say it was a LONG appointment. We got there at 12 and didn't leave until 5:30. We also had to do a one on one session with the shrink, she was......... interesting. Brought up alot of ideas we hadn't thought of but I don't think it pertained to us. She was sounding like I was giving her an "actual" baby not just an egg. Maybe I think about this different than most people do but once I donate the eggs to her and her hubby they are theirs to do with as they please, I don't care if the freeze them or let them respectfully die. I look at it like once I leave that OR I am no longer a part of the process. We were also taught how to give our injections. I already knew all this since I am an LPN but I sat throught it with my sister. I did learn something interesting in that class thought, did you know that oils help your body absorb progesterone so they give it to you in olive oil. So essentially you are injecting progesterone infused olive oil into your butt. LOL!!!! Thats all for now.

Getting a little nervous!!

So I started Birth Control pills yesterday, to sync my and my sisters bodies together. I am not liking this stage, I feel sick everytime I take that damn little red pill. I only have to take them for a month but at this moment that seems like an eternity. I talked to my sister and she said they make her feek sick also. All I can think is that this is a high homrmone dosage. Ugh!!

Finally feels like we are moving along!!

Today my sister and I both went in for our history and physicals. We are both healthy!! We both also had a pap done and we are waiting on the results for that. They haven't recieved our STD results yet. We go back on October 26th, this is the appointment that will REALLY set things in motion. My husband and Brother in law will have to go to the next 2 appointments with us. Should be interesting!!

Blood, blood and more blood!!!

Went today for lab work and I swear I don't see how I have any blood left. LOL. They took 5 vials for my STD intensive panel and CF (cystic fibrosis) screening, Sorry there is not much to report this visit was kind of a waste of time, don't see why we didnt do it last time we were there, we gave blood then also.

First appointment

So I had my first appointment this morning. The ultrasound showed 21 eggs in the right ovary and 19 in the left ovary. Apparently this is alot of eggs and they don't think they are going to have to give me as high of a dose of hormones to stimulate my ovaries (YAY!!) but the down side is that since I have so many eggs in there already my ovaries are going to be so heavy towards the end of all this that I will have to be on bedrest for at least a weeks with no strenuious activity. It I pull, push, lift or any other jarring motion to my body my ovaries could twist and I would have to have surgery STAT to remove my ovaries. Other than that we are waiting on my blood work to come back to schedule my next appointment. Should be the end of next week or the first of the following week. And now to add onto all this, I have a cyst in my neck, it has always been there, but for the last few months it has been getting bigger and inflammed. So on Ovtober 4th I will be going in to have it removed. Fun stuff!!
